Statement of Condolence Issued by the President Jalal Talabani Foundation on the Passing of Mr. Salih Muslim

To the family and relatives of Comrade Salih Muslim,

It was with profound sorrow that we received the news of the passing of the renowned fighter and politician of our people, the former co-chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), Comrade Salih Muslim. We felt immense grief from the depths of our hearts.

Comrade Salih Muslim rendered great services to the cause of our people in Rojava. He was a militant leader in the development and strengthening of the contemporary Kurdish struggle within the ranks of the Democratic Union Party, and he had a clear presence and played an important role.

Over the past forty years, Comrade Salih Muslim played a clear and prominent role in the liberation struggle of the people of Kurdistan and in national and patriotic causes. He had strong and interconnected relations with the leadership and people of the Kurds in the four parts of Kurdistan. He also played a major role in the Rojava Revolution of Kurdistan.

In the face of this great affliction, we extend our condolences, sympathies, and shared grief to all our people, to the family and relatives of Comrade Salih Muslim, and particularly to the people of Rojava.
We hope this will be the last of sorrows, and that God Almighty grants patience to all concerned, and may he rest in peace.
