His Excellency the President of the Republic of Iraq, Mr. Nizar Amedi, visited Mam Jalal's Mausoleum today, Monday, April 13, 2026, in a visit carrying deep national significance. He was received by the President of the President Jalal Talabani Foundation, Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Sabir, the Foundation’s Vice President, Mr. Yusif Zozani, along with a delegation from the Foundation.
This visit reaffirms the historic and national stature of the late President Jalal Talabani, as one of the most prominent symbols of modern Iraq and a pivotal figure in consolidating national dialogue and promoting peaceful coexistence among the components of the Iraqi people.
This is also the first visit by the President of the Republic to the Mam Jalal Mausoleum since assuming his duties, reflecting his loyalty to the legacy of the late President Jalal Talabani and his commitment to following his national approach. It is a clear message affirming adherence to the principles established by the late President, especially at this stage, which requires unifying ranks and strengthening stability.
This visit also embodies the current leadership’s commitment to following the path of the late President Jalal Talabani and drawing inspiration from his experience in crisis management and building bridges of trust among various political forces, thereby serving Iraq’s unity and advancing its journey toward peace and development.
