On Saturday, May 2, 2026, a delegation from the Consulate General of China in the Kurdistan Region, headed by Mr. Zhang Jianxin, the new Deputy Consul of the People's Republic of China, visited the mausoleum of President Mam Jalal. They were received by Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Sabir, President of the President Jalal Talabani Foundation, Mr. Yousif Zozani, Vice President of the Foundation, and Ms. Kale Muhammad Sabir, Director of Projects for the Foundation and the Office of the Secretariat of President Mam Jalal.
After laying a wreath as a mark of respect, the new Deputy Consul of the People's Republic of China wrote in the visitors' book: "We deeply commemorate the old friendship of the Chinese people with 'President Jalal Talabani'." He discussed the important role of President Mam Jalal in Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and the world, attributing the strong ties between the Kurdish people and the People's Republic of China to the strength of President Mam Jalal's character.
The President of the President Jalal Talabani Foundation thanked the People's Republic of China for its loyalty and the new Deputy Consul General of China. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to developing bilateral relations. Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Sabir stated that they will develop and enhance the cultural and intellectual relations between the President Jalal Talabani Foundation and the Consulate of the People's Republic of China , and will cooperate further in this regard.
