On Friday, June 12, 2026, coinciding with the birthday of Mrs. Hero Ibrahim Ahmad, the President Jalal Talabani Foundation, under the supervision of Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Sabir (President of the Foundation) and with the participation of a group of party and government officials, as well as friends of Mrs. Hero Ibrahim Ahmad, organized a dignified ceremony in her honor.
The ceremony began with the reading of a speech by the President of the President Jalal Talabani Foundation.
Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Sabir said in his speech: "Mrs. Hero was always concerned with improving the lives and livelihoods of the people and enhancing the system of governance. Through Sikhurma Magazine, she addressed all the issues that contributed to backwardness and underdevelopment in Kurdish society in all its different aspects. Sikhurma Magazine became a forum for the people and a deterrent to all those who persisted in injustice and crime."
The President of the President Jalal Talabani Foundation also said: "Hero Khan [Mrs. Hero] pursued a great dream with determination. She wanted the voice of the Kurds to reach the entire world and for our cultural identity to reach international cultural centers. The best way to achieve that was to establish a satellite channel, which was the great dream of every Kurd. That dream came true, and in 2000, she established Kurdsat TV, which became the voice of every Kurd."
Afterward, a speech on behalf of the family was delivered by Mrs. Hataw Ibrahim Ahmad. Mrs. Hataw Ibrahim Ahmad said about Mrs. Hero Ibrahim Ahmad: "In the journey of life, there are always rare individuals who, through their very existence and admirable character, become a school of values, teaching those around them lessons of resilience, generosity, and perseverance."
In another part of her speech, Mrs. Hataw Ibrahim Ahmad also said: "Invoking the name 'Hero' (meaning 'flower' or 'brave' in Kurdish), like the Hero flower of the mountains of Kurdistan, is not merely a sentimental tribute but a genuine reflection of our inner feelings."
In her speech delivered at the ceremony, Mrs. Hataw Ibrahim Ahmad said: "The Hero flower in the mountains of Kurdistan is a symbol of resilience, authenticity, and natural beauty that emerges amid the harshness of the rocks and mountains."
In another part of the ceremony, the Khak Music Group presented several musical pieces and songs for the guests.
At the end of the ceremony, the President Jalal Talabani Foundation expressed its thanks and appreciation to the friends and colleagues of Mrs. Hero Ibrahim Ahmad who participated in the discussions that contributed to the book "A Bouquet from a Lady's Garden," which was presented as a gift to attendees during the ceremony. The Foundation also extended its thanks and appreciation to the Kurdsat Media Corporation and the Khak Printing and Media Center.
The President Jalal Talabani Foundation also expressed its sincere appreciation to Kurdsat TV for serving as the ceremony's media sponsor and for broadcasting the event live.
