On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Sabir, President of the President Jalal Talabani Foundation, and Mr. Yusif Zozani, Deputy President of the Foundation, along with a delegation from the Bureau of the Secretariat of President Mam Jalal, welcomed Mr. Patrick Durel, the French Ambassador to Iraq, and Mr. Yann Braem, the French Consul General in the Kurdistan Region, along with their accompanying delegation.
The delegation from the French Embassy in Iraq placed a wreath of respect and loyalty on the grave of President Mam Jalal. The French Ambassador, in the visitors' book at the grave site, paid tribute to President Mam Jalal's role, highly commending the strong relations between Iraq and France during President Mam Jalal's presidency as President of the Republic of Iraq. He described President Mam Jalal's past efforts in advancing the peace process, dialogue, democracy, and bringing together Iraq's diverse components as significant.
The French Ambassador portrayed President Mam Jalal as a symbol of unity, peace, and national partnership in the collective memory and consciousness of Iraq.
