Minister of Environment Affirms Support for President Jalal Talabani Foundation Projects, Announces Start of Field Procedures for “Martyrs Park” Project in Sulaymaniyah

Within the framework of enhancing institutional cooperation and implementing the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the President Jalal Talabani Foundation and the Ministry of Environment, a delegation from the Foundation visited Her Excellency the Minister of Environment, Ms. Srwa Abdulwahid. The meeting focused on discussing mechanisms for joint cooperation in executing environmental projects with national and humanitarian significance.
During the meeting, Her Excellency the Minister affirmed the Ministry of Environment's full support for the Foundation's projects, particularly the project to establish the "Martyrs Park" nature reserve in Sulaymaniyah Governorate. This is considered one of the pioneering national and environmental initiatives aimed at preserving the environment and honoring the sacrifices of the martyrs.

Her Excellency also announced the Ministry's approval to dispatch a field technical team to the designated site to complete the necessary surveys and technical procedures. This will pave the way for proceeding with the project's implementation in accordance with approved environmental standards, reflecting the effective partnership between the two sides in serving sustainable development and expanding green spaces in Iraq.
