President Jalal Talabani Foundation Discusses the Importance of Space and Aviation Sciences in Youth Capacity Building with Captain Fareed Lafta

The President Jalal Talabani Foundation received Captain Fareed Lafta, founder of the Captain Fareed Lafta Foundation for Space and Aviation
Sciences, during a visit that addressed the importance of space and aviation sciences, their role in enhancing scientific research and developing youth capacities, as well as reviewing prospects for cooperation in supporting scientific initiatives.

During the meeting, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Sabir, President of the President Jalal Talabani Foundation, emphasized that the Foundation pays great attention to supporting scientific and educational initiatives that contribute to building the capacities of Iraqi youth, based on its belief that investing in science and innovation represents a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development.
His Excellency noted that
space and aviation sciences are strategic fields that open wide horizons for young generations toward creativity and scientific research, expressing the Foundation's readiness to strengthen cooperation with specialized national entities to serve the progress of science in Iraq.
Captain Fareed Lafta is considered one of the most prominent Iraqi figures in the field of aviation. He holds a military aviation diploma from Moscow and a commercial pilot license from the United States of America. He has set ten Guinness World Records, represented Iraq in the first diplomatic mission to the Russian Space Agency, and established the first Iraqi institution specialized in space and aviation sciences—an organization accredited by the Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers dedicated to spreading awareness of space and aviation sciences and supporting national talent in this field.
