A team from the President Jalal Talabani Foundation – Baghdad Office participated in a workshop organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The workshop focused on discussing the key steps for establishing the Civil Social Media Coalition in Iraq, as part of the "Social Media for Peace" project funded by the European Union.
The workshop addressed mechanisms to promote the safe and responsible use of social media platforms, combat misinformation, hate speech, and harmful content, as well as advance media literacy, digital safety, and capacity building.
The Foundation's participation falls within the framework of joint cooperation agreed upon with UNESCO to implement joint training programs and courses in the fields of responsible artificial intelligence, media and information literacy, digital security and safety, environment and climate change, peacebuilding and coexistence, and youth empowerment.
The President Jalal Talabani Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing cooperation with UNESCO and to developing specialized programs that contribute to capacity building, enhancing digital awareness, and promoting a culture of peace and coexistence in Iraq.
