Ambassador Dr. Mohammad Sabir, Chairman of the President Jalal Talabani Foundation, along with Deputy Chairman Yusif Zozani, received a prominent delegation of Egyptian academics, thinkers, and politicians led by former Egyptian Ambassador to Iraq, Sherif Shahein.
The visit was arranged upon the initiative of Simko Halmat, Assistant to Qubad Talabani for Arab Countries Affairs, who attended the meeting alongside politician Farid Asasard and Dr. Yassin Rauf Rasul, PUK representative to Egypt.
During the reception, Dr. Sabir highlighted the Foundation's non-profit mission to archive and preserve President Jalal Talabani's national heritage across three phases: Collection, Preservation, and Research Development. Ambassador Shahein commended Mam Jalal’s historic leadership as Iraq’s first elected president and praised his enduring diplomatic legacy with Egypt.
Both parties agreed to establish joint cultural and academic partnerships between the Foundation and Cairo-based institutions, paving the way for joint historical research, archival exchange, and international conferences between Kurdistan, Iraq, and Egypt.
