Official Announcement: Adopting the Name "Jalal Talabani International Airport" Effective March 19, 2026

The Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority has officially announced the adoption of the name "Jalal Talabani International Airport" instead of Sulaimaniyah International Airport, pursuant to the amendment issued by the Iraqi Civil Aviation Authority in the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP Amendment).

The name change decision will come into effect as of March 19, 2026, with the new name being adopted in all official correspondence, navigational charts, and relevant approved documents.
