"Projects that serve the field of children's education will be sponsored"
On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, in the city of Sulaymaniyah, Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Sabir, President of the President Jalal Talabani Foundation, signed a memorandum of understanding with Dr. Sangar Sarchal Jalal, President of the French-Kurdish Friendship Dialogue Organization.
Regarding the aim of the understanding, Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Sabir said: "This understanding is intended to develop a strategic partnership between the President Jalal Talabani Foundation and the French-Kurdish Friendship Dialogue Organization, as well as to support the development of joint projects and activities, mobilize relevant resources, and provide a broad framework of responsibilities."
The memorandum of understanding states: "Conducting several joint activities such as festivals, meetings, seminars, and panels, according to a schedule agreed upon by both parties."
Another point in the understanding between the President Jalal Talabani Foundation and the French-Kurdish Friendship Dialogue Organization states: "The President Jalal Talabani Foundation will provide material assistance and sponsorship, as needed, for joint work, especially for projects that serve children's education."
"In the future, in partnership with the French-Kurdish Friendship Dialogue Organization, we will begin to implement the content of this understanding and put it at the service of everyone, which will enable beneficiaries to make use of it," Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Sabir said.
Regarding the two organizations:
The President Jalal Talabani Foundation is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit, and impartial cultural, humanitarian, and national organization working to introduce, archive, and preserve the life and struggle of President Jalal Talabani.
The French-Kurdish Friendship Dialogue Organization is an independent, non-governmental, non-profit cultural organization working to promote cultural exchange, in its broadest sense, between France and the Kurdistan Region.
The entire points of the understanding:
1. Conducting several joint activities such as festivals, meetings, seminars, and panels, according to a schedule agreed upon by both parties.
2. Mobilizing human capabilities and resources between the two parties with the aim of serving fields such as human development, children's education, and cultural projects.
3. The French-Kurdish Friendship Dialogue Organization will cooperate in establishing connections between the President Jalal Talabani Foundation and French cultural institutions with the aim of carrying out joint work and projects in various fields.
4. The President Jalal Talabani Foundation will provide, as necessary, material assistance and sponsorship for joint work, especially for projects that serve children's education.
5. Any projects proposed by either party will be evaluated and decided upon by a joint committee representing both parties, in accordance with the specifics of each project.
