Greeting from the President Jalal Talabani Foundation on the 35th Anniversary of the Great Kurdish Uprising

To the proud families of martyrs, the citizens of beloved Rania, and the citizens of the Kurdistan Region,

On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the uprising of the proud people of Kurdistan (Raparin), we extend our congratulations to the proud families of martyrs, the heroic Peshmerga, the people of Kurdistan, and all the resilient citizens of Kurdistan.

What we possess and have achieved today is the fruit of the blood and sacrifices of the martyrs and the efforts of the people who rose up in that uprising. It is our foremost duty to protect and preserve the sovereignty and sanctity of the uprising.

Currently, Kurdistan and Iraq are going through a state of instability and conflict. We hope that on this anniversary, we will make greater efforts for peace in Kurdistan, keep our country away from any involvement in war and destruction, and make this anniversary a foundation for further strengthening the spirit of brotherhood, reconciliation, and internal unity in Kurdistan.

On the other hand, we call upon the political parties and factions in the Kurdistan Region to set aside their rivalries and strive to serve the masses of the Kurdish people and find fundamental solutions to their problems.
What must be said on this anniversary is that the uprising came into being under the leadership and struggle of President Mam Jalal and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, and with the blood of martyrs. We urge that, on this occasion, greater efforts and struggle be made for reconciliation and unity in the service of Kurdish togetherness, our unachieved goals, and the defense of the constitutional rights of the Kurdish people.
May this great anniversary be exalted and blessed.
