The President of the President Jalal Talabani Foundation, Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Sabir, along with his accompanying delegation, visited the President of the Republic, Mr. Nzar Amedi, on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Baghdad Palace. The visit was intended to offer congratulations on his assumption of the presidency, in addition to discussing a number of matters of common interest.
During the meeting, the President of the Foundation and the accompanying delegation extended their warm congratulations to the President, wishing him success in carrying out his national duties.
Discussions also covered the Foundation’s activities and future programs, as well as ways to enhance cooperation to serve society and contribute to reinforcing the values of unity and fraternity among the Iraqi people.
For his part, the President of the Republic expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the visit, recalling the political and struggle legacy of the late President Mam Jalal Talabani and his prominent role in establishing the foundations of the democratic process and strengthening national consensus.
His Excellency also emphasized the important role played by the Foundation through its programs and initiatives in support of peaceful coexistence.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides stressed the need to continue joint work and strengthen channels of communication and coordination to support national stability and serve the country’s highest interests.
