On Thursday, January 15, 2026, Dr. Muhammad Sabir, President of the President Jalal Talabani Foundation, received a delegation from the Iraqi Ministry of Environment, headed by Mr. Muhammad Abbas Seifullah.
The Iraqi Ministry of Environment, as part of the understanding reached with the President Jalal Talabani Foundation, handed over a portion of the requested seedlings to the Foundation.
One of the objectives of the President Jalal Talabani Foundation emphasizes greater attention to environmental protection, and is currently planting approximately 30,000 diverse and special seedlings in a park known as Martyrs' Park, designed in a modern style.
The establishment of Martyrs' Park will increase green areas in Sulaymaniyah City, benefiting its residents and promoting environmental balance.
The President of the President Jalal Talabani Foundation expressed his gratitude to the Iraqi Ministry of Environment for its cooperation and for contributing these seedlings to Martyrs' Park, and reaffirmed the Foundation’s commitment and ongoing efforts to environmental service.
Dr. Muhammad Sabir also noted: “We are actively contributing to addressing environmental and climate change challenges, which require joint coordination among all parties to mitigate their negative impacts.”
