The President Jalal Talabani Foundation and the Russian Institute of Oriental Studies Coordinate Efforts

On Tuesday, February 17, 2026, Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Sabir, President of the President Jalal Talabani Foundation, received a delegation from the Russian Oriental Studies, headed by Dr. Nikolai Plotnikov.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continuing and strengthening coordination in order to expand the plans and activities of the President Jalal Talabani Foundation.
Dr. Nikolai Plotnikov expressed his full readiness to cooperate in supporting the Foundation’s development, describing it as an institution of considerable importance at this stage.

The Oriental Institute is a governmental institution based in Moscow, the capital of Russia. It comprises 19 members and 20 diplomats and conducts research on issues related to the East and the world, reporting directly to the Russian presidency.
