Message on the Occasion of International Women's Day (March 8th)

On the occasion of International Women's Day, we extend warm congratulations to all women of Kurdistan and Iraq, wishing them success in their continued struggle and achievements.

It is everyone's duty to be staunch advocates for women's rights, to support and stand in solidarity with their struggle. Our brave women are the key to our successes; they are a great part of the achievements and progress of Kurdish and Iraqi society. Their courage and fearlessness, together with the support and backing of the late Leader Mam Jalal Talabani, are foundational.

At the President Jalal Talabani Foundation, on this blessed occasion, we emphasize the importance of achieving social equality and greater justice and strengthening women's participation in all political matters and administrative positions, in order to build a better and stronger society.

There are those who attempt to undermine women's efforts and oppose the struggle against oppression and injustice affecting women, seeking to push women backward. The unity of women and their collective efforts and advocacy create social change.
