President Jalal Talabani Foundation Extends Congratulations on Journalism Day

On the occasion of the 126th anniversary of the first Kurdish newspaper and Kurdish Journalism Day, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all journalists.
On this significant day, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to press freedom, as emphasized by President Mam Jalal, and to promoting an environment favorable to healthy criticism. We warmly congratulate all journalists and wish them success in achieving their goals.
We should collectively attempt to remove barriers to information access and create an appropriate environment for all. Our aim is to advocate for the enactment of modern laws that reflect the needs of the media and journalists.
Furthermore, it is imperative for media outlets and journalists to enhance their skills through capacity building and support the core values of journalism, thereby increasing trust and reliance on accurate evidence.
President Mam Jalal once remarked that a successful journalist should be intelligent, honest, and discerning, relying on credible sources and truths.
