As part of expanding the horizons of cultural and academic cooperation, Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Sabir, President of the President Jalal Talabani Foundation, and his accompanying delegation paid an official visit to the National Library of Spain.
During the meeting, mechanisms for developing archival work related to the Foundation’s collection on President Mam Jalal were discussed, along with ways to preserve historical archival and documentary materials in accordance with the latest international standards.
In another part of the meeting, the possibility of initiating joint cooperation was discussed to organize the Foundation's archives in a modern manner, as well as to benefit from advanced technology in the fields of digital archiving and document management, in a way that contributes to preserving the national memory and transmitting it to future generations.
Furthermore, both sides discussed the steps for signing a joint memorandum of understanding in this field, with the aim of solidifying institutional and cultural cooperation between the two institutions.
The delegation from the President Jalal Talabani Foundation was received by Javier Ortega Álvarez, Director of Culture at the National Library, and Isabel Hernández, Director of Institutional Relations and Protocol at the Library. They expressed their pleasure with the initiative and praised the role of the President Jalal Talabani Foundation in preserving the historical archive of President Mam Jalal and strengthening international cultural dialogue.
